Kylie Jenner’s newest venture, the Khy clothing brand, has caught the fashion world by storm, selling $1 million in the first hour of its introduction.
Kylie, who is well-known for her sharp business skills, is rapidly expanding her company and amassing fortune.
As the new range debuted this week, excited consumers flocked to Khy’s offers, causing popular items like the faux leather trench, gloves, and small dress collections to sell out quickly.
People claimed that these sought-after commodities were quickly depleted.
Kylie couldn’t contain her joy, resorting to social media to express her appreciation, writing, “The Khy trench & long sleeve mini sold out. Thank you thank you for all the love on Khy.”
The Khy collection, the first installment of her collaboration with Namilia, comprised 12 sleek, black items priced from $48 to $198.
Jenner also encouraged her followers to “shop the rest of the first Khy drop now before it’s too late.”
The Khy launch, however, was not without criticism. The new collection was accused of plagiarizing designer Betsy Johnson’s concepts, particularly those from her label, Products.
Betsey Johnson, not to be confused with the American fashion icon Betsey Johnson, turned to Instagram to criticize Kylie Jenner.
Johnson said in a heated post that she and her team had provided concept ideas, vocabulary, and a line sheet to Kylie’s camp six months previously.
She expressed herself sarcastically, writing, “INTERESTING CONCEPT KYLIE… INTERESTING. Thanks for the co-sign… F**k your support.”
Johnson also shared a snapshot of her £50,000 ($60,000) student debt, demonstrating the hurdles she faced and emphasizing the hard work that many working-class people put in to bring their ideas to life.
