Known for her powerful voice and soulful musical styling, Philadelphia’s own singer-songwriter Lady Alma will join multi-talented Philadelphia Eagles player Jordan Mailata during this year’s broadcast of the 6ABC Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday to perform their special song, “Merry Christmas Baby” from “A Philly Special Christmas.” That 2022 charitable album raised a staggering $1.25 million for the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC), and topped Billboard’s Compilation Chart at No. 1 immediately following its release.

And that made Lady Alma — who was born Alma Horton — very happy. But she’s not quite as happy about being referred to as the Queen of House Music. “I think there are already too many queens of all kinds of music in the business,” she suggests. So just call her a lady, if you don’t mind.
