Lake Placid, NY – Lake Placid Center for the Arts (LPCA) is excited to announce the first ever Winter Prom Fundraiser, to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 7 in the LPCA’s Annex Building (“the Cafetorium.”) All are invited to take a trip down memory lane for this fun and kitschy holiday party. While LPCA will miss hosting Joy to the Children this year, the staff and board wanted to bring people together to celebrate winter in a new fun way, while still generating much needed funds for year-round initiatives from the pottery program to summer camps.
This event will be a truly immersive party for people to re-live (or re-imagine) their glory days even if they are a few years past senior prom… Attendees are encouraged to dress from their own era of high school (or a favorite decade) for a night of food, drinks and celebration, all to support year-round programming at the LPCA.
Tickets start at $75 and are available for purchase online at http://www.tinyurl.com/lpcawinterprom or by calling (518) 523-2512, ext. 1002.
There are several other ways to support the LPCA this year if school dances are not your idea of a good time:
- Saving the dates for this year’s online silent auction, taking place December 11 – 16.
- Making an end of year donation to support the LPCA’s performance, education, visual arts, and service programs.
- Marking your calendar for the return of the annual Joy to the Children event in 2024.
