Former NBA star Lamar Odom has stepped forward to offer support to his friend NeNe Leakes during a challenging time for her family.
Odom, who previously shared the screen with Leakes on BET’s reality show College Hill, reached out to the reality TV star after her son Bryson Bryant was released from jail following a drug-related arrest.
Sources have revealed that Odom and Leakes formed a close bond during their time on College Hill, and their friendship has remained strong. In a heartfelt gesture, Odom extended an offer to provide treatment for Bryant at one of his rehab centers.
Earlier this year, the former LA Lakers player launched Odom Recovery Group, and his company has since partnered with Vanity Wellness Center in Woodland Hills.
With a network of rehab facilities across California, Odom believes that his resources can offer Bryson Bryant the support he needs to address his challenges.
Despite his sincere offer, sources report that Odom has yet to receive a response from NeNe Leakes.
Bryson Bryant’s legal problems
As previously reported, Bryant’s journey has been marked by legal issues, culminating in his release from Gwinnett County Jail on October 5 after posting a $6,000 bond.
His troubles began in July when he was taken into custody for drug possession. The 33-year-old was charged with felony possession of fentanyl and a misdemeanor for loitering/prowling.
Subsequently, he was hit with an additional charge of providing false information to law enforcement officers, having falsely identified himself as his younger brother, Brentt Leakes.
Bryson Bryant’s arrest also triggered a probation violation in a separate case, leading to a months-long jail sentence.
While initially scheduled for release in January 2024, he was granted early release on bond while awaiting trial in his most recent criminal case.
Nene Leakes’ reaction
Throughout these difficult times, NeNe Leakes has been candid about her son’s ongoing struggles with addiction.
She emphasized the need for rehabilitation and counseling, acknowledging that addiction is a challenging journey that many families face.
The reality TV star remains supportive and understanding, determined to provide the necessary help for her son’s path to recovery.
