Lana Del Rey’s Rendition of Tammy Wynette’s ‘Stand by Your Man’ Impresses Supporters

Fans are impressed by Lana Del Rey’s version of “Stand by Your Man” by Tammy Wynette.

Lana Del Rey’s songs often mention famous songwriters, and sometimes she even covers their songs.

Tammy Wynette’s 1968 country music hit “Stand by Your Man” was covered by the singer-songwriter on Tuesday at the Walmart AMP in Rogers, Arkansas. Fans taped the passionate version of the song by the A&W singer.

As she sang the first line of “Sometimes it’s Hard to be a woman,” the crowd went crazy. She was wearing a flowery dress and had her hair in a bouffant.

Fans kept cheering as she sang the well-known chorus.

The country-pop song by Wynette, now considered a classic, stirred when it came out. Many people thought the words meant that women should stay with abusive husbands no matter what, but Wynette said it was just a “pretty love song.”

The country singer, who later had crossover hit with the song “Stand by Your Man,” was also known for her troubled marriage to country singer George Jones, which lasted from 1969 to 1975.

Stand by Your Man is one of the few songs Del Rey has played on her most recent tour, which has mostly been at festivals. Tammy Wynette’s songs are liked by Del Rey, which makes sense since she has always liked Americana music.

She also paid tribute to the great country singer on Breaking Up Slowly, a song she recorded with Nikki Lane for the 2021 Chemtrails Over the Country Club album. “I don’t want to live a life of regret/I don’t want to end up like Tammy Wynette,” Lane says in the song.
