The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix has been broadcast in a flagship immersive projection venue more typically used to show great art.
Described “an unforgettable evening infused with Vegas glitz, glamour and racing”, the Formula 1 event took place at THE LUME in Melbourne, Australia, with an audience of 300 guests.
THE LUME is a concept developed by immersive event business Grande Experiences which has permanent venues in Melbourne and in Indianapolis in the USA. Each one is at least 3,000 sq metres in size with 150 state-of-the-art projectors.
The company has also delivered more than 200 touring experiences across six continents, ranging from shows about the likes of Van Gogh, Monet and Dali to Planet Shark: Predator or Prey.
On its website, Grande Experiences described the F1 broadcast in an immersive experience gallery as a “groundbreaking, world-first format”.
THE LUME in Melbourne has also recently shown a ganbu marra runway show during Melbourne Fashion Week at the end of October, which drew on the work of First Nations designers and artists.
