Latest Health News on Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes is still in a mental health hospital, according to reports, three weeks after she first went there. She might have to stay there for a long time, since doctors talk about her options at the end of each week. At the end of last month, the 37-year-old former Nickelodeon star was found walking around downtown Los Angeles without any clothes on. She was then put on a psychiatric hold.

Sources told TMZ on Sunday that it’s still not clear when Bynes will be able to leave the hospital. People who know her well are reportedly putting together a plan to help her in the future. She isn’t being forced to stay at the facility, but TMZ says that Bynes “doesn’t feel quite ready to leave yet.” She plans to join an outpatient mental health program when she finally leaves.

Since her nine-year conservatorship ended in 2022, the star of “What I Like About You” can make her own medical decisions. Bynes talked to medical staff to make sure that she will still be cared for after she leaves. Sources told TMZ that she met with doctors and specialists. The sources also said that rumors that Bynes’ parents have been with her since she went to the hospital were not true, but that they are still there for her.

On March 19, sources told TMZ that Bynes was found alone in Los Angeles without any clothes on. The former actress herself called a taxi and told the driver that she was “coming down from a psychotic episode.” She herself called 911.

Sources in law enforcement said that she was taken to a police station nearby. There, a team of people who work in mental health put her on a 5150 psych hold. Bynes did not get hurt during the whole thing. Usually, a 510 hold lasts for 72 hours, but Bynes’ was extended so she could keep getting better.

A few days later, sources told The Daily Mail that Bynes’s parents told her ex-boyfriend Paul Michael that he couldn’t contact her. They think he doesn’t care about what’s best for her. Michael was with Bynes last December 2022. On March 20, he told Page Six that she was “off her meds” and “wild.” Bynes and Michael got engaged in February 2020. They broke up for good in July 2022 after Bynes accused him of using cocaine again, stopping his medications, and watching “mom-and-son porn.” Michael told Page Six that Bynes “lied” about him using drugs and watching pornographic movies “to keep the attention off of her.”

Bynes was put under a conservatorship in 2013. She had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. After a string of strange things happened to Bynes, her mother took over as her guardian. Bynes filed to end the guardianship in February 2022, which her parents agreed with. As of the 22nd of March, 2022, it was over. Her first public appearance after the conservatorship ended was supposed to be at an All That reunion at the ’90s Con in Connecticut, but she did not show up.
