A former welding instructor has been rehired as the next instructor at the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center.

During a special meeting Nov. 1, the LCCTC Joint Operating Committee voted to rehire Tim Barton as instructor at a salary of $58,844 per year.

His hiring date will be determined upon notice and resignation from his current employment at the Western Area Career & Technology Center in Washington County.

Barton was rehired as instructor less than three months after he resigned from the role on Aug. 16.

In September, Josh Duzyk, a Triangle Tech welding instructor, was hired, but resigned a month later in October.

Automotive technology instructor John Goebel has been serving as the welding instructor in the interim after he received an emergency certification to teach the class.
