Learn to make home holiday décor in online workshop

RAYMOND, Miss. — Floral enthusiasts and business owners can learn to create home holiday decorations with evergreen cuttings and basic floral supplies in an online workshop.

The Deck the Halls workshop will include step-by-step instruction for creating impressive velvet bows, a classical garland, a regal door swag and a long-lasting, elegant table centerpiece.

Jim DelPrince, horticulture specialist with the Mississippi State University Extension Service, will lead the workshop.

The course is open to floral enthusiasts, flower farmers, floral designers and Christmas tree growers who want to increase farm sales with value-added products.

Registration is $95 per person. Registrants have lifetime access to the course and can complete the modules at their own pace. To register, visit the Extension registration portal at https://tinyurl.com/3jruu29x.

DelPrince joined the MSU Extension Service in 2015 after teaching students on the MSU Starkville campus for 23 years. Based at the MSU Coastal Research and Extension Center, he offers classes, workshops and other educational opportunities to amateur floral enthusiasts, professional designers and members of Mississippi’s green industry.
