The Department of Film and Television at Boston University’s College of Communication is seeking a Lecturer with expertise in Producing and Management. The ideal candidate is an experienced media professional and educator with a deep understanding of the current industry and past trends. Professional experience in line producing, producing, production management, management, development or showrunning are all relevant areas of expertise that would enhance our program. Requirements:This is a full-time position based in Boston.Significant professional management experience and achievement in one or more areas of film or television.An advanced degree and teaching experience at the university level is preferred but not required if professional experience is exceptional.The instructor will teach courses determined by their expertise. Topics may include line producing, creative producing, the television landscape across streaming services, networks, cable and digital, the ongoing disruptions to traditional systems, how revenue is generated, programming strategies, the management styles and strategies of major players, negotiating and dealmaking, and the management skills needed in this environment.
