Lionsgate Promotes Maxfield Elins To SVP, Scripted Television Development

EXCLUSIVE: Maxfield Elins has been promoted at Lionsgate.

Elins, who has been with the company for 10 years, has been named SVP, Scripted Television Development. He was previously VP of Scripted Television Development.

Elins, who started as an assistant at the company after joining from WME, recently shepherded the John Wick television prequel The Continental, which debuted on Amazon and Peacock, and was involved in renewals for Max’s Julia and Apple TV+’s Acapulco as well as the launch of the return of Party Down on Starz and the weird and wonderful Seth Rogen-produced miniseries Paul T. Goldman for Peacock.

In his new role, Elins will continue to manage the production of series from the initial development stages to post and marketing, and he will negotiate with network and platform partners to secure renewals.

He also helps to manage Lionsgate Television’s Canadian footprint, collaborating with 3 Arts’ Canada office and working closely on the studio’s partnership with Bell Media in Canada, as well as helping to oversee overall and first-look deals with the likes of Home Economics creators Michael Colton and John Aboud, Acapulco producers Eric & Kim Tannenbaum and Austin Winsberg and Point Grey.

“Max is the total package, and the range of his creative taste truly sets him apart,” said Scott Herbst, Head of Scripted Development and EVP, Lionsgate Television. “He is well-respected by producers and talent alike while maintaining a hell of a forehand, and we are thrilled for Max to continue to expand his leadership role at the studio.”
