Literary League hosts another best-selling author

I love to read. In fact, I try to read three books a week. Sometimes I hit my goal, sometimes I pass my goal, and sometimes I just don’t make my goal, but I love the places books take me. Perhaps that is why I always get so excited when the Literary League invites New York Times best-selling authors to come to High Point. What a wonderful opportunity to meet the authors who lure me with mysteries, take me to places unknown or share past lives. Or as Dr. Seuss would say, “Oh, the places you’ll go!”

Author Fiona Davis takes us into iconic buildings in New. York City through her novels, weaving mysteries and characters, some nonfictional, throughout. Her books (and places in them) have included “Lions of Fifth Avenue” (New York Public Library), “Magnolia Place” (Frick Museum), “The Dollhouse” (Barbizon Hotel), and “The Masterpiece” (Grand Central Terminal) to name a few. Her latest book was “The Spectacular” (Radio City Music Hall).
