Live music supporter to be memorialized

FLY CREEK — The Cooperstown Concert Series will present singer-songwriter duo Burns & Kristy and the Caravan of Love Concert in Memory of community member and live music supporter Bruce Andrews, who died unexpectedly on Oct. 1, 2022.

The concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the United Methodist Church at 852 County Road 26 in Fly Creek. A pre-show gathering will begin at 6:15 p.m. with music by local group Fast Friends.

According to a media release Andrews, born in Cooperstown, was a coach, teacher and small businessman throughout his entire life. He also loved music. He and his wife Sue hosted house concerts over the years in their home in Schuyler Lake.

As further stated in the release, Andrews is described as being a very generous friend of the Cooperstown Concert Series who often helped financially support performers on its stage.

An avid fan of the duo Burns & Kristy, Andrews often hosted them at his house concerts and supported the pair in other local venues. Terry Burns and Ron Kristy met after many years as independent musicians and singer/songwriters in Nashville, and married in 2004. Their music is described in the release as “fresh, contemporary, moving, melodic and fun.” Often performing as a guitar and vocal duo, Rich DePaolo will join them for Saturday’s show.

Profits from the concert will be donated to charity.

Tickets are $20 for adult, $10 for student (with College ID), $10 for youths ages 6 to 18, and free for children younger than 6 and may be purchased online or at the door.

Light refreshments will be available for purchase at intermission.
