London Fashion Week AW24 might have taken place under the city’s usual misery-inducing grey cloud covering, but the streets outside the shows made up for it with a mad mish-mash of kaleidoscopic looks and chaotic clothing combos on show.
As always, the British capital demonstrated its punky, DIY spirit isn’t dead, with cool kids slipping into kicky kilts – both traditional and of the cult Chopova Lowena variety – swamping hoodies, bold, bright outerwear, and endless mega accessories: from JW Anderson’s squeezable Bumper bag and Chet Lo’s weapon-like glass spike heels, to little devil hats and cat ears that looked like they came straight off a Camden Market stall. As ever, Dazed’s Yu Fujiwara was there to capture it all.
It wasn’t all fashion, though. Along with a number of other LFW attendees, Fujiwara took time away from the circus outside of the shows on Saturday afternoon to participate in the most recent march for Palestine. The photographer showed up alongside hundreds of thousands of others who joined the Central London protest to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
