Looking for weekend events for Father’s Day? What to know about car shows, pub parties


It’s summertime, and car shows are popular in the Upstate.

Every year around this time, car enthusiasts flock to the Upstate to showcase their prized vehicles and admire the impressive array of cars.

From classic cars to vintage, custom builds, muscle cars, foreign models, sports cars, rare models, and much more.

With Father’s Day approaching on Sunday, what better way to celebrate Dad than with a trip to a local car event? You can also have lunch or dinner at a restaurant, attend a day party, or grab some drinks.

Anderson Native Sam Glenn said. “I have been coming to the Piedmont Natural Gas Day Before Father’s Day Car Show for 25 years. It’s a family-friendly event that everyone can enjoy.”

Here is a list of Father’s Day events taking place in the Upstate.

Anderson

The 25th annual Piedmont Natural Gas “Day Before Father’s Day Car Show Celebration,” presented by Carolina Beer Company, returns to downtown Anderson on Saturday, June 15.

Over 150 vintage automobiles will line Main Street in downtown Anderson.

“We got 18 cars coming. With Father’s Day coming up, this event is special for residents to come out and brace the downtown area and check out some awesome cars,” said car enthusiast Stephan Heck, a member of the Ridge Runners Corvettes, a non-profit car club based in Greenville.

The event is free and kicks off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Car registration starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m.

If you want to participate in the event, you can fill out a registration form and bring it to the speed line tents on Whitner and Benson Streets, off McDuffie St.

Main Street Program event organizer Carey Jones said, “We started this event to give back to the local community and support local businesses in the area. The event is expected to draw hundreds of people.”

Car Show Parking

Main Street will be closed from Federal Street to Market Street on Saturday from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m.

No parking on Main Street will be allowed overnight on Friday night.

Attendees can use street parking downtown, the First Baptist parking lot, and the Anderson County Library parking lot.

Neighbors Pub: Father’s Day Party

The Father’s Day Party at Neighbors Pub will take place on Sunday, June 16, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Neighbors Pub, 6601 Highway 24, Townville.

This will be an outdoor show. Attendees can bring their own chairs, and beer will be on sale.

Same-day memberships can be purchased for only $5. All proceeds will go to Upstate Wounded Warriors organization.

Spartanburg

Enjoy Father’s Day at the Craft Axe Throwing event, which will be held from June 16 to June 20 at 226 W. Main St., Suite D in Spartanburg.

This is a free-throwing experience for all dads.

Greenville

Spare Time’s Father’s Day Car Show will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The event will feature food vendors, music by DJ Big Miller from Southern End Entertainment, bowling, an arcade, and an escape room.

There will be five classes: modern, classic, import, Jeep, and truck.

Spare Time Greenville is expected to open this Spring on Congaree Road

The top three will receive specialty awards.

Father’s Day BBQ at Spare Time

Spare Time’s Father’s Day BBQ will return to 822 Congaree Road on Sunday, June 16, from noon to 3 p.m.

An all-you-can-eat buffet will be available, with BBQ pulled pork, hot dogs, hamburgers, and classic BBQ sides like mac and cheese, baked beans, and a nacho bar.

A special gift for Dads, including a free $20 Game Zone card, will be given out.

Ticket prices are for adults, $26.99, and for kids, 12 and under, $14.99.

The reservation is free, and payment for the buffet is not due until the end of your meal.

Bring your dad to New Realm Brewing

New Realm Brewing Co., located at 912 S Main St. in Greenville, hosts a “Bring your own Dad, Father’s Day” event.

Attendees will enjoy a wide selection of craft beers, delicious food, and live entertainment.
