“Steven Luksan performs gorgeous music for solo piano by the prolific (but mostly-forgotten) Finn Erkki Melartin on the 150th anniversary of this important composer’s birthday. “International Guitar Night,” Kent Parks Spotlight Series, Kent-Meridian Performing Arts Center, Kent

“International Guitar Night is North America’s premier traveling guitar festival, bringing together the world’s foremost acoustic guitarists. For International Guitar Night’s 25th year, featured guitarists include an IGN favorite and three exciting newcomers. Lulo Reinhardt (Germany) is well known to IGN audiences. The grandnephew of legendary Django Rainhardt, Lulo plays Latin Swing music, a combination of Gypsy Swing with Latin rhythms. Alexandra Whittingham (England) is a dynamic classical guitarist with a repertoire ranging from the classics to contemporary composers. Niwel Tsumbu (Ireland) has kept his unique Congolese percussive style alive over the past 25 years living in Ireland. Tapestry Artists of Puget Sound (TAPS) was founded in 1990 for the exchange of techniques, philosophy and inspiration within the world of tapestry. The group provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and an opportunity for critical review through discussion, exhibition and publication. Each artist has developed and refined a body of work that expresses a unique vision and commitment to the art form.

“Charlene Burley Watercolors”

“Charlene began painting watercolors more than 15 years ago after visiting Daniel Smith’s Art Studio in Seattle. She followed several local artists such as Ann Breckon, Kay Barnes, and Mary Gibbs.
