Louisville organization We Survive hosts Basketball deLIGHT


A Louisville organization is helping spread hope for those experiencing homelessness and for young people in the community.”We Survive” held its Basketball deLIGHT event at Westport Road Baptist Church on Saturday.Children and shelter families were invited to attend a basketball clinic coordinated by Phillip Morrison, pro basketball skills trainer with “Hoops for Christ.”The highlight of the event was the light-up glow ball play after the clinic.The public was also welcome to attend Saturday’s clinic and was encouraged to bring donations for the Miracle on Broadway.The Miracle on Broadway is a store that provides toys, personal items and food for more than 5,000 people each year.The event is a part of Lightfest, where the community is asked to display a light on their porch Saturday night, raising awareness about poverty in Louisville, educating young people about the importance of civic engagement and mental health.
