
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The Lowcountry Food Bank announced Tuesday they received a $5,000 grant from the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.
The foundation gives out grants to nonprofits working to reduce poverty throughout the Palmetto State.
“The Sisters of Charity has helped support Lowcountry Food Bank for more than a decade,” stated Nick Osborne, President and CEO of Lowcountry Food Bank. “These funds continue to make a difference in the lives of the neighbors we serve.”
During this funding cycle, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded $877,000 through a total of 100 grants to nonprofits across the state.

“We are dedicated to empowering nonprofits across the state as we seek to meet our mission to reduce poverty in South Carolina,” Macon Lovelace, the Chairman of the Board of Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina, said. “Through collective action and innovative ideas, we will continue to take meaningful steps together to create a South Carolina where all people have the resources they need to thrive.”
These grant recipients serve all 46 counties of South Carolina.
