LuisaViaRoma, the leading online luxury fashion retailer headquartered in Florence, has announced an exclusive capsule collection in collaboration with Mithridate.
Mithridate, known for the brand’s distinctive aesthetics fusing traditional Chinese elements with Western modernity, presents a limited edition collection for LuisaViaRoma, featuring billowing silhouettes, flowing textures, strategic cutouts, as well as intrinsic prints and patterns. Demon Zhang, Mithridate’s founder and creative director, is known for her signature maximalist style, often utilizing unique techniques such as Southwest China’s bean dye technique and laser cutting and hydraulic spray painting.

“Personally, I am fond of street elements in design and style. Street fashion embodies cultural fusion — it’s vibrant, imaginative, and never conventional,” Zhang shares in notes following the brand’s star studded launch event during Paris Fashion Week. “Sometimes I try to incorporate a ‘street’ attitude to deal with the conflict and fusion between ‘East’ and ‘West,’ ‘tradition’ and ‘trend.’ This season, we incorporated patchwork and woven textures of auspicious clouds and gourd patterns onto denim jackets, while balancing the complex patterns with an over-size silhouette.”

An intimate dinner was held during Paris Fashion Week in celebration of the new collection, at the historical Bastille Design Center, co-hosted by the actress Kelly Rutherford and attended by a string of industry influential forces including Yoyo Cao, Meredith Duxbury and Young Emperors.
