BROOKFIELD — The Madison County Fair kicked off on Thursday at the Brookfield speedway on 1968 Fairground Road. Located just outside of the small town of Brookfield, the fairgrounds were lined with RV’s and cars as vendors and entertainers set up for a long weekend of attractions and community celebration.

Just inside the entrance is the main stage for magician Lance Gifford, who is performing multiple shows each day of the fair. In one of his more crowd pleasing acts, he transformed a dove into a rabbit and then into a dog, all while having a young volunteer watch out for trickery.
