BARNESVILLE, Pa. – A regional radio legend has reached a monumental milestone.

“Polka Joe” is celebrating his 50th anniversary.

The Lakeside Ballroom in Barnesville, Schuylkill County was the scene for a party ‘celebrating’ the local radio personality.

Polka Joe Manjack and his Magic Polka Machine radio show have been entertaining listeners for half a century. 

The show started in 1974 as an hour long program on Sunday mornings.

“As we uh moved along over the years that one hour show turned in to 3 hours, it’s what we do it today. We nicknamed it the magic polka machine for the past 29 years now” said Polka Joe Manjack.

The Magic Polka Machine has endured 5 owners, several call letter changes and 2 separate studio locations over the last 50 years.
