Man charged after Home Deco Furniture window shattered

A 29-year-old man was charged with criminal mischief after an incident captured on surveillance video and witnessed by a Guam senator, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in Superior Court.

Police received a call Thursday evening about a man throwing a trash can at the window of a business in Tamuning. When they went to the area, they found Dominique Guerrero Padrones, who matched the description of the suspect.

While officers were interviewing Padrones, Sen. Chris Barnett approached them and said he was driving down Route 1 near Home Deco Furniture and saw Padrones pick up a rock and throw it through into the window at the store.

The window was shattered, and glass was scattered on the floor of the store, the complaint stated.

A worker at the store said Padrones had been sleeping outside the establishment for the past two weeks.

When the store owner arrived, police viewed surveillance video that showed a man who looked like Padrones throwing a large rock through the store window.

Padrones told officers he became frustrated and threw the rock after hearing voices, according to the complaint.

If found guilty of misdemeanor criminal mischief, he could be sentenced to a year in jail.
