A man died after he was struck by a car while crossing the road in northwest Rochester Thursday night, according to Rochester police.
A man in his 60s was walking across Driving Park Avenue, near Lark Street, when he was struck by a westbound vehicle just after 9:15 p.m., said Capt. Ryan Tauriello of the Rochester Police Department. Responding officers found the pedestrian unresponsive and on the ground in the road.
The man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Tauriello said. His name was not released.
The driver, a man in his 30s, remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Tauriello said that police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the fatal crash.
Officers continue to investigate the crash
