GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A verbal altercation led to a hit-and-run that hospitalized a man Monday afternoon at Gloucester Township Community Park, police said.
During the dispute, the man either fell off the hood of the moving car or got struck by the vehicle, authorities said. The driver then fled the scene in an unknown direction, according to police.
Authorities were dispatched to the park on 400 Hickstown Rd. at about 3 p.m. for a report of a person bleeding in a vehicle. A medevac from Hackensack Meridian Health flew the injured man to Cooper University Hospital, police said.

Police described the striking vehicle as a dark-gray or dark-colored four-door sedan (see the photo above). The investigation remains ongoing, and no suspect has been publicly identified as of Tuesday morning.
