A man who was hit by a car while crossing a street earlier this month in east San Jose died Tuesday from his injuries, the San Jose Police Department announced.

The man, whose name and age were not announced, was hit at about 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 10 while crossing Story Road at the intersection of Galahed Avenue against a red light, the police department said. The man was taken to a hospital, where he died 10 days later.

The driver of the 2015 Honda Civic that hit him stayed on scene and cooperated with police, according to the department’s announcement.

The crash marked the ninth traffic fatality this year on San Jose streets — six of which have involved pedestrians.
