Man rams vehicle into food truck in Cordova, injuring bystanders, police say


MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A man was arrested Friday night after he allegedly drove his vehicle into a food truck in Cordova, injuring bystanders, police said.

Alton Turner, 42, was charged with two counts of criminal attempted second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated assault, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

The alleged assault happened just before 7:20 p.m. on the 8500 block of Macon Road, where police said Turner got into an argument with several people at the food truck. MPD did not identify the business

Turner made threats to the people he got into an argument with before he went his vehicle, police said.

MPD said that he drove it into the food truck, hitting bystanders and causing visible injuries.

Turner’s injuries were not considered serious, police said.

His bond was set at $75,000. He is set to appear in court Tuesday morning, records show.
