MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Police on Friday released surveillance footage showing a man stealing a Nissan sports car in just seconds.
The car theft happened about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 at a parking lot on the 6000 block of Park Avenue on the city’s southeast side, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
The 42-second clip released by MPD starts off with a man dressed in a black hoodie, gray pants and blacks shoes getting out of a white SUV. He then walks to the passenger side of a 2010 Nissan 370Z. He spends a few seconds there before he gets into the sports car by diving headfirst into the passenger seat, the footage shows.
Memphis Police Chief CJ Davis recently said that Nissan cars have surpassed Hyundais and KIAs as the most stolen vehicles in Memphis.
