The Marblehead Festival of Arts will unveil its winning 2025 logo Tuesday, Jan. 21, 6 p.m. at The Landing Restaurant, 81 Front St.
The new logo was chosen from three finalists selected by public vote and will be displayed for the first time Tuesday night, along with other top logo entries.
Since the start of the Festival in 1962, a new logo has been selected from a design competition. This year, the three finalists Alicia Hart, Justin Derosa and Liz Koch, were chosen from 63 submissions by a panel of judges.
Those judges were Wayne George, owner of F L Woods Nautical Merchants; Mary Melilli, graphic artist and Salem State University professor of media and communication; and Peter Schalck, graphic artist, website designer (Flatrock Creative) and owner of Marblehead Mercantile.
The semi-finalist logos will also be displayed and were drawn by Adam Cohen, Edward Dossantos, Ellie Doyle, Alicia Hart, Emmanuelle LeGay, Patrick Lillard, Joe Reyes, Kayla Riley and Madelyn Roberts.
The winning logo will be displayed on all products sold during the 2025 Festival as well as on promotional materials throughout the year.
“We had great participation in our logo contest this year, and we are always excited to present the finalists to the town in the new year,” said Bill Smalley, co-chair of the logo contest.
Co-Chair Alison Quade Sprin, added, “In addition to celebrating the winning logo and kicking off the festival year, the evening has become a great way to chase away the winter blues, meet and greet Festival friends and hear about the 59th festival plans in the making. Those interested in becoming volunteers are especially encouraged to come learn more and enjoy the fun.”
Festival board members will be on hand at the logo premiere to answer any questions attendees may have and describe the opportunities available. Robert Simonelli, manager of The Landing Restaurant, is donating a percentage of all meals and drinks purchased during the event to support the Festival.
