Marelli, a global automotive technology company, has appointed Saju Mookken as its India Country Manager. In this role, Mookken will lead the company’s strategic and growth efforts in the Indian market.

With more than 25 years of experience in the automotive sector, Mookken has been with Marelli for nearly two decades and has contributed significantly to establishing the company’s position in India. India’s automotive industry, currently the third largest globally, offers substantial growth potential. Mookken’s experience will be instrumental in enhancing local governance, business coordination, and employee engagement for Marelli in India. In addition, he will continue his role as Regional Head of Propulsion Solutions for Asia-Pacific (excluding China).

Before joining Marelli, Mookken held a board position at a Denso Group company, where he oversaw Finance, IT, Commercial & Sales, and Purchasing. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University and is a certified chartered accountant.

Ravi Tallapragada, who previously served as India Country Manager and contributed to the company’s operations in India over the past two years, will now focus entirely on his role as President of Marelli’s global Electronic Systems business, aligning with the company’s emphasis on the growing importance of Software-Defined Vehicles.

Marelli, a global automotive technology supplier, provides advanced systems and components across several areas, including powertrain, electronics, and lighting. Known for its emphasis on innovation and technology-driven solutions, Marelli serves major automotive manufacturers worldwide. With a presence in various regions, including a significant footprint in Asia, Europe, and the Americas, Marelli aims to leverage its expertise and global reach to strengthen its market position.

A key competitor of Marelli is Bosch, one of the largest and most established automotive suppliers globally. Bosch offers a wide range of automotive solutions, from powertrain systems to advanced driver assistance and infotainment technologies. Like Marelli, Bosch is focused on advancing mobility, with a particular emphasis on electrification, automation, and digitalization. Bosch’s strong R&D capabilities, extensive product portfolio, and longstanding partnerships with carmakers give it a robust position in the market.

Both Marelli and Bosch operate in highly competitive, technology-driven segments where continuous innovation and adaptation to emerging trends are essential. Their competition reflects the broader industry’s shift toward sustainable, connected, and autonomous mobility solutions, aiming to meet the evolving needs of automakers and end consumers.
