Maroon 5’s new song, “Middle Ground,” is their first new music since 2021.
Adam Levine, who sings lead on the song, sings lyrics like “Sisters and brothers are picking sides/and both of our mothers are terrified” and thinks about the chance of finding something they can agree on.
The music video, directed by David Dobkin, will premiere alongside the band’s live performance of the song on the season finale of The Voice on May 23.
Maroon 5’s latest record, Jordi, came out in June 2021. It was a sad tribute to their late manager and long-time friend, Jordan Feldstein, who died in 2017. On the record, Stevie Nicks, Megan Thee Stallion, and H.E.R. all worked together.
The band started playing regularly at Dolby Live at Park M.G.M. in Las Vegas in March. More shows are planned for July and August. But when the band’s lead singer Adam Levine was accused of having an affair last fall, the news of the residency was pushed to the side.
