Director Martin Scorsese has responded to indigenous criticism surrounding his new film ‘Killers of The Flower Moon.’ It’s based on the true story of the 20th-century murders of a wealthy Osage tribe under Americans who want to steal their oil wealth. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Ernest Burkhart and Lily Gladstone who plays his Osage wife, Mollie Burkhart. The film’s Osage consultant, Christopher Cole, told The Hollywood Reporter that although Scorsese “did a great job” their history isn’t represented. However, Scorsese replied, “It’s told, as much as possible, from the ground level in which the Osage and the European American were living together.” “This movie it’s based on hard evidence and a sense of community from the Osage that in a lot of ways they have not openly talked about before”, said Scorsese according to The Hollywood Reporter.
