Matthew Lillard is having something of a career revival, even though he’s been booked and blessed for many years, and his next project is going to be part of the Marvel family.
The Scream and Scooby Doo icon has already been announced as joining Prime Video’s Cross for season two, and returning to the horror movie franchise for Scream VII, but that’s not all he’s got cooking.
It’s just been announced that Lillard will be appearing in season two of the upcoming Marvel Television series Daredevil Born Again, which is already heading into production on season two even before season one has dropped on Disney+.

Deadline were the ones to make the discovery that the 55-year-old was joining the Marvel universe, but alas, details of his casting are being kept under lock and key.
How did fans react to the news Matthew Lillard was returning to Scream?
News of Matthew’s return first broke, again, on Deadline, with no context for how he’s returning, but the actor alluded to him starring as Stu Macher once more with an Instagram post.
In the video, one of Stu’s famous quotes is being written out, (‘My mom and dad are gonne be so mad!!’) so it seems safe to assume that this is a hint that Lillard won’t be back as Macher’s long-lost twin brother or something.

Needless to say, fans have gone wild with the news, with many people sharing the video and commenting on it to share their excitement.
A fanpage for Lillard commented: ‘Our king returns to the screen as he always said he’d be right back!!!’
Another fan wrote: ‘If Stu is back in 7 I’m gonna lose my mind….’ while a third said: ‘Thank God I’m on the toilet because this made me almost sh*t myself.’
Matthew’s going to have a very busy 2025, as the next instalment of Five Nights at Freddy’s is coming to cinemas this December, where he’ll return as Uni.
