Matty Healy has responded to Noel Gallagher’s harsh comments, which came after he and Taylor Swift broke up after a short time together.
Healy bit back at Gallagher after the rock star recently attacked him. In an interview last month, the leader of Oasis called the lead singer of The 1975 “a slack-jawed f***wit” and his band “s**t.” This caused a fight between the two rock stars.
It directly answered Healy’s earlier claim that Noel and Liam should put their differences aside and get back together. The 56-year-old also talked about how angry he was that 1975 won the BRIT Award for Best Rock Album.
Healy has now responded to Noel in his own way by saying that Noel only writes albums to get people to watch his talks.
Noel told NME in May, “I was watching it with my kids, two teenage lads, thinking, ‘Is it me being a grumpy old man, or is this s**t?’ They were both going, ‘Oh no, this is f****g s**t.”
“The 1975, Best Rock Band? Someone needs to redefine that immediately because that is… I don’t know what that is, but it’s certainly not f****g rock. Whatever rock is, that’s not it.”
On stage last night in Dublin, the singer said that Chris Martin of Coldplay and Bono of U2 had been very helpful in the past week.
He told his friends, “Noel Gallagher called me a ‘slack-jawed f**kwit’… I love Noel Gallagher.”
Matty made fun of the rocker by saying, “The difference between me and Noel is that I do a series of interviews to promote an album, whereas he does an album to promote a series of interviews.”
Then he said to his rival, “But we love you, Noel. Get Oasis back together!”
Before they were said to have broken up recently, it was said that Matty wanted to “settle down” with Swift and saw a “long-term future” with her.
Reports say that Taylor Swift and Matty Healy have broken up. However, a source later told the Mirror that the two “still care” for each other.
