March of 1974 saw the opening of a new store in Nevada, the vision of Lloyd and Doris May, in a cabin-like structure at what is now a smaller part of a local restaurant at 117 S. Centennial Blvd. The new florist and gift shop, known as May’s Floral, later acquired new partners, Don Russell and his wife, Georgia, who just happened to be Lloyd’s sister. Building onto the smaller shop, they expanded the business to include a wedding registry in addition to a nursery and greenhouse.
