“Kelly Akashi: Formations” features a series on the inherited impact of her family’s imprisonment in a Japanese American incarceration camp during WWII. Inspired by the exhibition, we will explore the histories of the Japanese American community in San Diego and their continued importance to the fabric of our city with the Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego.
