WHITESBURG, Ky. (WYMT) – Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation will soon be opening their new mobile health clinic.
Administrators looked to address a lack of public transportation to healthcare providers in the seven counties they serve.
“During Covid and during the flood, we identified that, you know, not all of our patients have the ability to make it to the clinic,” said Corporate Compliance Officer Chris Bates.
The mobile clinic will be equipped with several items that can be reasonably stocked onto the unit.
“We’ll be able to do preventative health screenings. We’ll be able to do immunizations. We’ll be able to do product health screenings. We’ll be able to check your diabetes,” Bates said.
The mobile clinic is handicap accessible.
Bates said they plan to open it in early spring.
