Medvedev, ranked No 3, will face Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 4 seed, next.
The Russian won against French qualifier Terence Atmane (5-7, 6-2, 6-4, 1-0 ret.), Finn Emil Ruusuvuori (3-6, 6-7 (1), 6-4, 7-6 (1), 6-0), Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 27 seed (6-3, 6-4, 6-3), Portuguese Nuno Borges (6-3, 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-1) and Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 9 seed (7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Zverev, ranked No 6, defeated Dominik Koepfer (4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3), 6-3), Slovak qualifier Lukas Klein (7-5, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (7)), American Alex Michelsen (6-2, 7-6 (4), 6-2), No 19 seed Cameron Norrie (7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (3)) and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed (6-1, 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-4).
