Time to meet the preseason AGN girls basketball Super Team.
MVP: Sadie Sanchez, Junior, Randall
Randall has the preseason MVP in volleyball (Jordyn Gove), boys basketball (KJ Thomas) and now girls basketball. Sanchez was Newcomer of the Year two season ago and followed it up with a campaign in which she averaged 21.2 points and 2.1 steals per game and earned an offer from UTSA. To top it off, she’s got another year to go after this one.
FIRST TEAM
G: Berlin Bartlett, Junior, Pampa
Back-to-back first team appearances for the Lady Harvester after she averaged 16 points, 4.5 rebounds, four assists and four steals per game last season.
G: Jaylee Moss, Junior, Canyon
Lots of impressive juniors this year as Moss already holds four college offers, including from a D-I school in Abilene Christian University. She was named to two separate All-State teams and led Canyon in scoring at 11 points per game.
G: Jada Graves, Senior, Amarillo High
New leader for the Lady Sandies averaged 10.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and two steals per game last season.
F: Avery Carter, Senior, Tascosa
Carter received serious consideration for MVP and would’ve been Comeback Player of the Year last season if the award existed. Carter averaged 14 points, nine rebounds and 2.4 blocks for the Lady Rebels after missing virtually all of her sophomore year with a torn ACL.
F: Mercedes Ewing, Senior, Miami
Ewing was a second team selection to the 2022 Super Team after averaging 22.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game.
SPARKS OFF THE BENCH
G: Braylen Lusby, Senior, Spearman
District MVP and TABC All-Region player averaged 17 points and five rebounds per game last year.
F: Trinity Schlueter, Junior, Valley
Averaged 18 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.6 steals per game.
F: Brooklyn Birkenfeld, Junior, Nazareth
Amarillo Globe-News Newcomer of the Year averaged 12 points and five rebounds per game for the Class 1A state champions.
F: Lucy Richards, Senior, Vega
Lady Longhorns’ star averaged 17.6 points, eight rebounds and 3.7 steals per game last season.
F: Makylee Baldwin, Junior, Farwell
District MVP averaged 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 50% from the field.
SECOND TEAM
G: Kasidy Russell, Junior, McLean
Averaged 15.5 points, 4.9 assists and 4.4 steals per game while scoring 340 points on the year.
G: Taytum Bell, Senior, Amarillo High
Averaged 9.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.2 steals while shooting 53.9% from the field.
F: Hailo Moon, Sophomore, McLean
Averaged 14.2 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Lady Tigers.
F: Jami Perkins, Sophomore, Wildorado
Averaged 14.6 points, 13.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 5.6 steals and 3.1 blocks per game.
F: Sydnee Winfrey, Junior, Canyon
Averaged eight points and six rebounds per game while earning TABC All-Region honors.

SPARKS OFF THE BENCH
G: Lexi Guerrero, Sophomore, Palo Duro
Averaged six points, three rebounds and three assists while leading the Lady Dons to the playoffs as District Newcomer of the Year.
G: Piper Patterson, Junior, West Plains
Averaged 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals per game.
G: Brooklyn Boyett, Senior, Bushland
Averaged 11.6 points, 2.5 boards, two steals and 2.5 assists per game last year.
F: Jovi Perkins, Senior, Wildorado
Averaged 16.4 points, 4.8 assists, 9.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists last season while shooting 38.8% from the field.

Averaged 15.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.8 steals, 2.9 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.
