Wait – it’s Memorial Day already?? The collective shock in the office when we realized how quickly it’s creeping up… I guess we can (almost) unofficially say that the start of summer is upon us. Warm weather, sandy feet, eating BBQ on a blanket…I’m ready.
While Memorial Day isn’t technically until May 27, we’ve noticed that Memorial Day sales have already started, and we expect this trend to continue from now until the actual holiday. Consider this our early iteration of the Memorial Day Sales Cheat Sheet, and keep checking back as we update it daily.
My Top Memorial Day Sales Deals Every Year
There are always a few go-to items I stock up on every Memorial Day (or at least I wait until Memorial Day sales hit to purchase). This is a highly personal list, but in case it helps, here’s my Memorial Day Sales shortlist:
- These towels from Parachute Home – I almost always have to replace a towel or two due to stains (and my refusal to use anything but environmentally friendly laundry detergent). All of our towels are from Parachute, and they’re amazing. The linen bedding is another favorite.
- Molekule Air Purifiers – Over the years, I’ve been adding one of these to almost every room in the house. If you have allergy sufferers (hi, it’s me) they’re almost miraculous. The mini is all I really need on a per-room basis, but the pro is great for an entire floor (especially if you have a large, open floor plan, rather than a city walk-up). They also help kill viruses, too.
- J.Crew vacation clothes for my guys – All three of my guys swear by J.Crew’s linen button-ups, as well as their short-sleeve cotton poplin shirts in fun prints. They wear them with these shorts (usually 7″ length) and that’s basically what they pack for every summer vacation. Works great for summer parties, too.
- Rumpl Blankets & Stash Mats – We bring these lightweight, puffy blankets & waterproof mats freaking everywhere. They work just as well at the beach as they do on the grass (or even staying warm slopeside in winter). They’re machine-washable, and I never feel like we have enough. (Rumpl is a climate-neutral-certified brand too.)
- Darn Tough Hiking Socks – They’re the best. These tree-lined ones are cute too, or this pair if you prefer a ton of cushion.
- Chilewich Rugs – These absolutely indestructible rugs (that also happen to be modern and gorgeous) never go on sale…but they did last year at Food52, so I’m hoping they do again this year. We have them all over (even in muddy Vermont). Game changers, for sure.
- Thermocell Mosquito Repellant – These little containers are the only things that work (and I’m one of those people mosquitos LOVE). I bring them everywhere, and set them up around me.
- Supergoop! sunscreen – I’ve tried so many other face sunscreens, but Supergoop’s Glow Screen is still my hands-down favorite. And I always pick up a tube of Glowscreen body, too. It’s shimmery and perfect for vacation and I love how it makes my skin look. (I never share these with the kids, haha – this is just for mama). Supergoop! doesn’t usually go on sale until Memorial Day weekend itself.
In terms of sale highlights as of right now…I’m eyeing up this denim patchwork dress from GAP that looks almost identical to one I bought from Frame, and J.Crew’s swim section is sooooo good.
Saks happens to have – ahem – a giant sale on really high-quality sexual wellness products. If interested, this one is the best. 😉
I really want to do something with our back patio…but don’t quite know what. So I might just throw some on sale furniture back there and see what happens. This patio set looks like CB2 but at a fraction of the cost, so. In blue, maybe??
Fashion: The Best Memorial Day Sales On Clothing, Shoes & Accessories
Right now, start with Athleta: This is my favorite workout tank of all time, but this one is on sale (same fabric, different style). Both of these workout tanks are seriously cute on, and double as summer tops. Additionally, those Brooklyn wide-legs pants are so good – super lightweight, yet I’ve been styling them like they’re actual trousers – they look like it, too! (They were just on sale, so we have a feeling they’ll go back on sale).
Hold. The. Phone. Saks is having a quick little sale and it’s mayyyyybe the most exciting sale I’ve seen yet. Pricy, but if you’re a sucker for Ulla Johnson or Doen or – gasp – Milly, go nuts.
Next, as I mentioned above, check out J.Crew’s swim. I’ve been wearing their string bikinis since high school(!!) and I’ve never found a better one for the price. I just picked up the pink multi floral and already have the ‘dark evening’ stripe. Looking for a one-piece? This ‘vintage red’ polka-dot one is so flirty & cute, and I love that they brought back this cap-sleeve mom suit that looks seriously cute on.
Looking for linen dresses and/or matching sets? I’m still waiting for Reformation’s linen dresses to go on sale (prob not until Memorial Day weekend), but this Everlane dress has peaked my interest, and Abercrombie’s linen collection is looking GOOD. Very Reformation-like (but not climate-neutral-certified like Ref).

Home: The Best Memorial Day Sales On Decor, Kitchen Appliances, Outdoor Gear & Luggage
Our Place is currently 40% off sitewide. I swear by their baking set (everything you need without being overwhelming) and am deeply curious about their multicooker. Soooo pretty (especially in comparison to my ugly InstantPot).
While I’m waiting for my Parachute towel sale, I’m picking up a few more Hydroflask bottles – currently on sale at Amazon. Stanleys are too big for me, and I like the lid on the Hydroflasks better.
Lastly, if you’re in the market for a new suitcase, the scuba navy set at Paravel is the most gorgeous thing I’ve seen in luggage yet, and Away is offering $50 off a bag-and-suitcase combo.

Beauty: The Best Memorial Day Sales On Hair, Makeup & Skincare
Um. As I mentioned, there’s a big Lelo sale going on at Saks (hint: vibrators – including this discreet travel one and my personal fav). Good stuff.
Sephora also has a bunch of stuff 50% off. These filtered shower heads were JUST on sale, so hoping they go back. I’ve been thinking of getting one for Vermont – it’s supposed to help with hard (or soft) water, and reduces frizziness, etc. Anyone try them?
