Men’s Basketball Falls 69-64 At Boise State – University of North Texas Athletics


BOISE, Idaho – The UNT men’s basketball team fell 69-64 at Boise State Tuesday night in its first true road game of the year.

The Mean Green led 64-58 with two minutes remaining but were without senior Rubin Jones and junior Aaron Scott who each had fouled up. Over the final 1:48 of the game, UNT gave up an 11-0 run to give the Broncos the win.

With the loss North Texas falls to 5-3 on the year and Boise State improves to 5-3. The Broncos have now won 17 in a row at the ExtraMile Arena.

“We had enough points to win the game,” head coach Ross Hodge said. “But it comes down to getting stops and making rebounds. We’ll learn and grow from this and get better.”

Jason Edwards led North Texas in scoring Tuesday as he finished with 20 points. Jones had 16 points before fouling out. CJ Noland had 12 points and a career-high four steals.

Boise State was led by Chibizo Agbo who scored 27 points and made six 3-pointers. The 27 points is the most an opponent has scored on the Mean Green this season. 

Next up for UNT is a road trip to Brooklyn, New York to face Fordham at the Barclays Center on Dec. 10 at 10:30 a.m. CT.
