MIAMI SHORES, Fla. | The No. 23 UAH men’s basketball team fell to No. 2 Nova Southeastern on Saturday afternoon at the South Region Crossover on the campus of Barry University by a final score of 105-84 in nonconference action. UAH slides to 1-1, while NSU rises to 2-0.
The Chargers were led by Tommy Murr – an Athens, Alabama, native – with a team-high 20 points and seven rebounds as he went 5-for-11 from the field and 8-for-8 on free throws across 25 minutes. Murr additionally rated second on the team with three assists.
Murr was joined in double-digit scoring by Auston Leslie at 13 points and Luke Burnett with 11 points. Both Leslie and Burnett sank three, three-pointers in the contest.
UAH shot 47.3 percent (26-55) from the field and 38.5 percent (15-39), as the Chargers outscored the Sharks in the second half 47-31 thanks to the Blue & White making 12 of their 15 three-pointers in that frame.
The Chargers look ahead to opening their home schedule next weekend with the Bill Penney Classic that will feature matchups against No. 6 Lincoln Memorial next Friday and Fisk next Saturday.
