Five Starting Notes
1 – Navy is making its 10th trip to California and first since the 2010-11 season.
2 – Navy is playing a current West Coast Conference team for the first time since playing Portland in a 1993-94 game played in Lincoln, Neb.  The last time the Mids played at a current WCC team was their game against the Toreros in 1991-92.
3 – San Diego last played a current Patriot League team in 2019-20 when it played host to Holy Cross.
4 – Navy has previously played games at San Diego-area schools San Diego State (1980-81, 1983-84, 2007-08), San Diego (1991-92), the former US International (1980-81) and UC San Diego (2022-23)
5 – Mitch Fischer set a career high for points scored in a game with five in Navy’s season opener at Campbell.  He thens cored eight points in the team’s second game against Temple and recorded 13 points Friday at UCSD.

•    The Mids (0-3) will end their cross country trip with a Monday night game (10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT) at San Diego (3-1).

Last Game
•    Navy dropped the first game of its trip, 73-55, to UC San Diego on Saturday.
•    The Mids trailed by just five — 40-35 — early in the second half when the Tritons went on a 16-3 run that gave them a 56-38 lead with 10 minutes still to play.
•    UCSD was 6-6 from the field in that span and limited Navy to a 1-7 effort.
•    The Tritons opened the second half 8-11 from the field and ended the stanza going 16-28 (57%) from the floor. In contrast, Navy made 16 field goals for the game and shot 33.3 percent overall.

About San Diego
•    San Diego complied an overall record of 11-20 last season and placed ninth in the 10-team West Coast Conference with a 4-12 record.
•    The Toreros placed ninth in this year’s nine-team West Coast Conference Preseason Poll.
•    San Diego has opened the season with a 3-1 record.  
•    The Toreros posted wins over Sonoma State (68-64) and Jackson State (87-61), then lost at UC San Diego (69-63).  San Diego rebounded with an 80-71 win over Le Moyne Friday night.

Navy-San Diego Series
•    Monday’s game will be the second between Navy and San Diego.
•    The first meeting of the teams saw the Toreros defeat the Mids, 93-76, on Jan. 2, 1992, in San Diego.

Navy vs. West Coast Conference
•    Navy has totaled a 1-3 record against teams currently in the West Coast Conference.  The Mids have faced four of the nine WCC teams.
•    The last game for Navy against a WCC team was when the Mids lost to Portland, 94-93, in Lincoln, Neb., during the 1993-94 season.
•    Navy’s additional three games against WCC teams were road games at Saint Mary’s (1983-84, W), Santa Clara (1988-89, L) and San Diego (1991-92, L).

San Diego vs. Patriot League
•    San Diego has posted a 7-0 record against teams currently in the Patriot League.  It has played five of the 10 league teams.
•    The Toreros last played a Patriot League team when it defeated Holy Cross, 68-51, during the 2019-20 season.

•    Seniors at the USNA learned of their service assignments on Thursday, Nov. 16.
•    Tony Atkinson received Marine Corps ground.  Upon graduation this May he will enter the Marines as a Second Lieutenant.
•    Austin Inge received Navy supply corps.  He will become an Ensign in the Navy on May 24, 2024.
