MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Central Michigan Men’s Basketball will play the second of its two exhibition games on Sunday, Oct. 29 with a contest against NCAA Division III Alma at McGuirk Arena. Tipoff is at approximately 2:30 p.m. or 40 minutes after the conclusion of the CMU-Davenport Women’s Basketball Exhibition, which is scheduled for noon. Admission is free for both games.
The Chippewas opened their two-game exhibition slate with an 81-55 exhibition win over NCAA Division II Northwood on Sunday. CMU used a 24-3 spurt to open up the second half and take its largest lead of the game, 58-22, with 14 minutes to play. Brian Taylor led the way with 16 points, while Aidan Rubio added 13.
The Chippewas open 2023-24 regular season play on Monday, Nov. 6 at Oklahoma. Tipoff time is at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT for a game on ESPN+.
CMU’s home opener is on Saturday, Nov. 11 when it hosts Louisiana-Monroe in the MAC-SBC Challenge.
CMU’s non conference schedule also includes a four-game trip to Florida where the Chippewas will face Florida State (Nov. 13), South Florida (Nov. 15), Siena (Nov. 20) and either Milwaukee or Stetson (Nov. 21). CMU also travels to Ohio State (Nov. 29), Creighton (Dec. 9) and Loyola-Chicago (Dec. 30). Home games include vs. Valparaiso (Dec. 6), Davenport (Dec. 19), and Detroit Mercy (Dec. 21).
