LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men’s tennis heads on the road for its first away match of the season. The Aggies travel to San Diego to play UC San Diego in a doubleheader, with the first match at 11 a.m. (MT) and the second at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Northview Tennis Courts.

LAST WEEK
USU opened its season with a 6-1 win against Weber State on Jan. 21. The Aggies took the lead early, earning the doubles point. Senior Stijn Paardekooper and sophomore Nuno Pinheiro took the 7-6 (5) win at the first position, while freshman Stefan Vedouelli and graduate senior Bodin Zarkovic won 6-3 at the second position. In singles, Zarkovic won in three sets at the No. 1 spot (4-6, 6-4, 6-2), Paardekooper won in straight sets at the No. 2 spot (7-6 (10), 7-5) and junior Sergi Micó Fenollar swept his match at the No. 3 spot (6-1, 6-2). At the No. 4 spot, sophomore Nuno Pinheiroi lost in three sets (6-2, 3-6, 3-6). Freshman Mohammad Alkotop swept his match at the No. 5 spot (6-3, 6-3) and freshman Philipp Rein won in three sets at the No. 6 spot (5-7, 7-6, 1-0).
