Men’s Tennis Completes First Day At Virginia Tech Halloween Tournament


BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Elon University men’s tennis team picked up six wins across doubles and singles Friday at the Virginia Tech Halloween Tournament. Virginia Tech is hosting the tournament through Sunday. 
 
Veljko Krstic racked up his ninth singles victory of the fall by winning a tight three-set affair 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 against Peter Kalocsai of East Tennessee State. Krstic also picked up a doubles victory with partner Oskar Antinheimo, as the duo won in a tiebreak. 
 
Daniel Martin, Juan Sengariz and Ben Zipay were all victorious in singles as well, with all three winning matches in straight sets. Elon went 4-4 in singles play on Friday. 
 
Sengariz and Zipay also added a doubles victory to complete a 2-2 doubles record for the maroon and gold. 
 
Elon will continue the tournament on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
