PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel men’s tennis defeated Mount St. Mary’s, 7-0 at the Vidas Courts.
Drexel opened the day with a sweep in doubles play. Alan Jesudason and Alex De Sousa continued their phenomenal doubles play with a 6-3 victory. Egor Kirakosov and Will Burridge paired in the No. 2 match and saw an identical result. In the third-seeded match, Josue Guzman and Hussein El-Tawil paired for a 7-5 victory.
In singles play, Hussein El Tawil downed his opponent in No. 1 singles with a pair of 6-1 sets. In the No. 2 match, De Sousa finished his opponent 6-2, 6-0. Will Burridge earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory in No. 3 singles, while Kirakosov finished his opponent 6-0, 6-3. In the No. 5 match, Josue Guzman earned a victory, 6-1, 6-3. To finish Drexel’s perfect day, Pierre Humayou earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
Drexel returns to action on Saturday, February 3. The Hofstra Pride travel to Philadelphia to take on the Dragons in the conference opener. First serve is slated for 11 a.m.
