Men’s Tennis Finishes Play at Yale Invitational


NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Columbia finished off the fall season this weekend at the Yale Invitational. Sophomore Sachin Palta, senior Theo Winegar and junior Hugo Hashimoto represented the Lions at the event.
 
The duo of Palta and Winegar shined at the Yale Invitational with a perfect 4-0 record in doubles action. Palta and Winegar defeated Dartmouth’s Ren/Groom, 7-5 Friday. The duo then posted two wins Saturday before wrapping up the weekend with a 6-2 win against NJIT’s Perez-Ramos/Jenkins.
 
Palta won three matches in singles play as well. Palta dominated in a 6-1, 6-0 win over Dartmouth’s Groom. He then finished off the event with two wins Sunday.
 
The Yale Invitational marked the end of the fall season for the Lions. The men’s tennis team will be back in action in the spring for the dual season.
