CAMBRIDGE, Mass.  – Harvard men’s tennis remains home this weekend as they serve as hosts to UCLA, Ole Miss, and Northwestern for the ITA Kickoff Weekend.  To open up action, the Crimson will battle UCLA on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

What to Know

• The Crimson have started its 2024 season 2-1 after dropping its season opener to Memphis and then bouncing back with a pair of wins against No. 21 NC State and Bryant. 
• Harvard picked up its first ranked win of the season by defeating No. 21 NC State in a near sweep, 6-1. 
• After missing the fall season, Ronan Jachuck has had a strong start to his senior campaign, standing at 3-0 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles. 
• Cooper Williams, who ranks No. 15 in the ITA Division I singles rankings, earned his first collegiate dual match win by downing No. 120 nationally ranked singles player, Robin Catry (NC State), 6-4, 6-3. 
• Daniel Milavsky sits at 4-1 overall across singles and doubles play through the first three matches.  The junior picked up his first ranked win of the season in the team’s season opener against Memphis, downing No. 80 Pau Fanlo (Memphis). 
• Throughout the fall and the Crimson first three matches of the dual season, it has picked up 55 singles wins and 30 doubles victories. 
• Prior to the start of the 2024 year, Harvard earned their highest ITA preseason ranking in program history, checking in at No. 10.  Most recently, the Crimson remained in the top-15 by checking in at No. 15 on January 24.
• Harvard received three nods in the final ITA Men’s Division I singles and doubles rankings of the fall season with Daniel Milavsky and Cooper Williams checking in at No. 5 in the doubles poll and Williams and Marc Ktiri earning No. 15 and 111, respectively, in the singles rankings. 
• The Crimson match up against UCLA eight times between 1982 and 1996 but were never able to come out on top.  Harvard will look to add its first win in the all-time series as the two squads face off for the first time in 28 years. 
• With a win on Saturday, the Crimson would advance to the finals and face the winner of Ole Miss and Northwestern to battle for a spot in the ITA Indoor Nationals. 

Next Up

Following the conclusion of the ITA Kickoff the Crimson will remain at home for a doubleheader on Friday, February 2.  Harvard will welcome No. 14 Michigan to Cambridge with first serve set for 5:00 p.m.  Later that night the Crimson will face off against crosstown foe, Boston University.
