SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana men’s tennis team opens up the 2024 season spring season in Kearney, Nebraska, as it’s set to faceoff against MSU Denver on Friday, Feb. 2 and Newman on Saturday, Feb. 3.
AU enters this season picked fifth in the North Division of the MIAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll the league announced Wednesday. The Vikings collected 10 total points, as Washburn is tabbed as the preseason favorite with 40 total points and nine first-place votes.
The men propelled to an 8-10 2023 season with notable wins over William Jewell, Northwestern and John Carroll. Henry Dornbusch recorded a 13-5 No. 1 singles record throughout the season and collected a 9-5 doubles record with Cade Damgaard.

The Roadrunners open up their 2024 season with a match against Nebraska-Kearney on Friday, Feb. 2, before facing the Vikings. During the 2023 season, the Roadrunners recorded an overall record of 15-5 and returned No. 1 singles senior Jeanloup Auzias. Auzias tallied a singles record of 15-2.
Newman
The Jets had a strong 4-0 2023 Fall season as they snagged wins over Sterling College, Bethany College, Quincy and Missouri Valley College. Newman recorded a record of 48-74 in singles matches last season.
