Men’s Tennis Set for Fall Finale at UNCW – Coastal Carolina University Athletics

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men’s tennis team is set for its fall season finale with a trip to Wilmington, N.C. for the UNCW Hidden Duals on Oct. 27-29, hosted by UNC Wilmington.

This year’s hidden duals features two schools the Chants have yet to face thus far this season in Davidson and Boston College. Senior Guilherme Toresan faced UNCW’s Reece Falck in the opening round of the singles draw at last weekend’s ITA Carolina Regionals in CCU’s lone matchup with the Seahawks this season.

Last weekend, the Chants finished play at the ITA Carolina Regionals in Cary, N.C., hosted by Duke University. Seniors Carlos Berna Ruiz and Lucas Wayenburg were the standout performers for Coastal, advancing to the second round in the main draw of singles in the men’s open. As a team, the Chants finished with a 9-9 overall record between multiple singles and doubles brackets.

This weekend, CCU will send a lineup featuring Ryuya Ata, Berna Ruiz, Rivers Cahill, Jesus Garcia, Toresan and Wayenburg to Wilmington to compete in both singles and doubles match play.

The UNCW Hidden Duals will open tomorrow at 11a.m. ET, starting with Coastal taking on host UNCW in an opening round doubles matchup.
